Health o meter® Professional Scales New Wheelchair Scale Certified as ADA Compliant

ADA compliance third-party certification awarded for new wheelchair scale products.

McCook, IL March 17, 2025 – Pelstar LLC, the manufacturer of Health o meter® Professional Scales, announces its new 2620KL Digital Wheelchair Scale with Dual Ramps and Extra-Large Platform is officially certified for ADA compliance. The scale was reviewed and certified by a third-party company Corada (Comprehensive Online Resource for the ADA). Through Corada’s ADA Product Certification program, the scale is certified that it is in compliance with specified federal and state accessibility codes and standards. By using a certified product, facilities can be assured their scale is in compliance with the U.S. Access Board’s regulations for medical diagnostic equipment. By following ADA requirements, facilities can protect themselves against discrimination lawsuits under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). In addition to the 2620KL scale, the new 2600ADKIT retrofit kit is also certified for ADA compliance. Existing Health o meter® Professional 2600KL and 2610KL series of scales can be modified with a 2600ADAKIT to bring the scale into compliance with the new MDE standards. Together, the 2620KL and the 2600ADAKIT are the only scale products on the market that are certified for ADA compliance.
