Steve Kirby

Steve Kirby currently serves as the chairman of the compensation committee on the board of directors for Pelstar, LLC, makers of Health o meter® Professional medical scales. Steve also serves on a number of other corporate boards including the Bluestem Capital Company.

Steve has a BS degree in political science from Arizona State University and is a graduate of the University of South Dakota School Of Law.

From 1977-1992, Kirby was secretary and senior claims counsel for Western Surety Company, a national surety bond company, and served as the 35th Lieutenant Governor for the State of South Dakota from 1993 through 1995. He was also a candidate for South Dakota Governor from 2001-2002.

Steve is a sought after speaker for various entrepreneurial and college forums. He is the recipient of the Spirit of Enterprise Award from South Dakota’s Enterprise Institute, the Spirit of Sioux Falls Award, and the USD Financial Management Association’s Outstanding Financial Executive award.
