The holiday season has begun and though we enjoy the times with friends and family, the season can also bring weight gain and stress. Here are some tips to keep you healthy and end the year feeling great!
Be Organized
With long shopping lists, holiday traffic, and crowded stores, running errands can become very stressful. One way to reduce stress is to be organized about where you need to go and what you need get done. Dedicate time each week to accomplish different tasks, don't try to do everything all in one day.
Don't Over-Commit to Obligations and Events
It's hard to say no to holiday get-togethers. But when you say yes to everything, you risk not getting enough rest or being too busy to truly enjoy the season. Commit to only 1 event per workweek and 1 event per weekend if possible.
Keep Up with Exercise Routines
With extra activities to attend to during the holidays, it's easy to brush off our exercise routines. But keeping up your exercise routines will help burn off those holiday sweets calories and can help reduce stress. Skipping your workout can also result in seasonal weight gain that may be tough to lose once the New Year starts.
Dedicate Time for Special Holiday Activities
Don't let the holiday season pass without taking time for the things the season is all about - family, friends, and celebration. It's important to spend time with our loved ones during the holiday season. Have a quiet night at home to enjoy the holiday music and lights and to reflect on the meaning of the season.
